ALWAYS USE WITH A HARNESS!! Bought this for my Boxer to use in my Kia Soul and it works fantastic. The only issue I had was that he kept stepping on the seat belt and unclipping it. I fixed that by velcroing the seat cover over it and tucking it under the cover and that doesn't happen anymore. It's sturdy enough to hold him and I feel better that he's secure and he also can't jump into the front seat if I get out.
